The Battle of Endor

Year: 5 ABY

The Battle of Endor was a battle between the Galactic Empire and the Rebel Alliance. The rebels were attempting to destroy the second Death Star.

The new Death Star was being built while it was in orbit around the forest planet of Endor. Endor was home to many creatures, including small creatures called Ewoks that kind of resembled a teddy bear. A shield generator had been placed on Endor's surface to protect the Death Star until it was operational. The rebels had to disarm the shield before they made their attack.

The rebel strike force made it to the shield generator, but the code had been changed and they could not get into it. Imperial troops arrived, and a fierce battle began. The Ewoks helped, using homemade gliders and catapults to topple Imperial AT-STs. Han Solo's copilot, a Wookiee named Chewbacca, managed to take over one of the walkers, using it to inflict heavy losses on Imperial forces.

Astromech droid R2-D2 was attempting to hack the shield generator doors when a stray laser blast hit him. Smoke poured out of him, and he short-circuited. Han Solo managed to finish the job, and the rebels made it to the shield generator and planted charges.

Meanwhile, above the moon, rebel fighters were waiting for the shield generator to be destroyed. When the generator exploded, the rebels made their move. The Millennium Falcon and a few others flew into the Death Star, toward the reactor core. They fired at it, and then quickly made their way out. The Death Star was destroyed, and the rebels won.

And while the battle had been taking place, on board the Death Star, Luke Skywalker was being tempted by the Emperor, and, after dueling his father, Darth Vader, when he refused to give in, the Emperor blasted Luke with Force lightning. Seeing his son in pain, Darth Vader suddenly grabbed the Emperor and hurled him into the Death Star's reactor core. He was fatally injured doing so, and he died soon after. The Battle of Endor was the beginning of the end for the Empire.
