Our new van

 Have you ever driven for more than 8 hours to buy a van? Well, we have! Yesterday, we left the house at about 9:00 AM in our rental van to buy our own van. We had to drive for an hour and a half or something like that, because Mom and Dad couldn't find any good vans anywhere near us. When we stopped at the first car place, me and Dad gave one of the vans a test drive. There were a lot of scratches on its side (we were at a place that sold used cars), and the inside of it smelled like cigarettes. Yuck!

We didn't buy anything there. We went to a different place, and Dad found a van that he liked. He wasn't sure if he wanted to buy it or not. By then, it was nearly noon, so we went to Wendy's to get some lunch and for Mom and Dad to think about buying the van. I got a medium cheeseburger, a medium fries, and some apple juice. It was delicious!

After lunch, we went back to the car place to buy the van. We had to wait a long time, longer than half an hour. One of the guys working there brought out a bucket of toys and stuff and asked us if we each wanted to take something from it. I chose a pack of Star Wars trading cards. They're very cool.

After a few more minutes, Mom told us that if we wanted to buy the van, we had to get a special check from the bank. The bank was about 25 minutes away. We drove there to get the check, but we had to go through the drive-through, and it took us more than 15 minutes to get the check. Then we drove all the way back to the car place and finally bought the van.

Then we had to go on the hour and a half drive back home. Dad drove me, Elle, and Thea in the new van, and Mom drove everyone else in the rental van. Dad had to pick up a dinner that Terri Vyner had made us. When we arrived, we got out to play with Charlie and Laura for a bit. Dad and Owen and Terri chatted for a bit. Guess what? Our new van was completely identical to the Vyners' van!

When we arrived home, it was already time for dinner. A few days before, Mom had ordered the "Game of Life" for me, and guess what? It arrived during dinner! I've already played it about five times, and I have not won a single time!😡 We had spent nearly the entire day in the car. One word of advice: don't try this yourself! It is very tiring.
