Visiting Melbourne zoo
Yesterday we went to the zoo! We went to the hyena enclosure first. There was a hyena resting in the sun. Then it got up, and walked away. Next we went to the lion enclosure. There was a big tank with a crocodile in it. One of the zookeepers had a cardboard tube attached to an ice-cream container lid. He was tapping it against the glass on the tank. The crocodile swam up to the glass. Then someone threw a fish into the water, and the crocodile ate it whole! Next we went to the reptiles. There were lots of big snakes, small turtles, and big lizards. There was also a gigantic crocodile! I liked the snakes the best. Then we went to see the giant turtles. They were so huge! Then we had lunch. I threw out a bread crust to feed the birds. More than thirteen birds came. After that, we went to the tigers. One came right up to the glass! Then we went to the elephants. They were not there, so we went to the butterflies. There were butterflies everywhere! Then we went to the orang-utans. We saw one climbing around on the gym. He was so strong! Then we went to Keeper Kids. We played with the snakes and the jeep. I really enjoyed our day at the zoo.
