Mind-Blowing Mobius!

This nifty craft appears to defy the laws of physics. It baffles you, yet fascinates you as well. What is it? It's a Mobius strip! Read on to make one of these shape-shifting strips.

WARNING: THIS EXPERIMENT MAY BLOW YOUR MIND.

You will need:

A strip of paper, about an inch wide (the longer the better)

Scissors

Tape

Give the strip of paper a half twist (180° twist), then tape its ends together. It's a weird looking thing, isn't it? Prepare yourself, it's going to get a lot weirder. Cut down the middle of the strip until you have (supposedly) cut it in half. If you're expecting it to break into two pieces, you're dead wrong! You will actually have a piece of paper twice as long as your original strip!

If you want even more mind-baffling fun, repeat this experiment, but, instead of a half twist, give the strip of paper a full twist (360° twist). Cut it down the middle, and... I'm not even going to tell you what happens next. You'll have to find out for yourself!
