The First Order

The First Order rose from the ashes of the evil Galactic Empire. Its stormtroopers wore improved armour, and had many incredible starships and vehicles. In this post, you will learn everything you need to know about the First Order.

Supreme Leader Snoke

Supreme Leader Snoke was the leader of the First Order. He was skilled with the Force. He was killed by his apprentice, Kylo Ren, who then became Supreme Leader.

Kylo Ren

Kylo Ren, the son of Han Solo and Princess Leia (his real name is Ben), was originally a pupil of his uncle, Luke Skywalker, before he turned to the Dark Side. He became Snoke's apprentice. Kylo Ren soon killed Snoke and became Supreme Leader.

The Resistance

The Resistance fights back against the First Order. Its leader is Princess Leia. It has a small fleet of starfighters, and many great pilots, including Poe Dameron.

First Order Stormtroopers

First Order stormtroopers wear the improved version of Imperial stormtrooper armour. As young people, the stormtroopers are taken from their homes and trained to be a stormtrooper. They are given names with letters and numbers, for example, FN-2187.

Vehicles

The First Order's fleet had ships and vehicles very similar to the Empire's. Here are a few of them.

Star Destroyer

The Resurgent-class Star Destroyer was similar to the Empire's Imperial 1-class Star Destroyer, but was more improved in many ways. Imperial Star Destroyers had exposed command bridges, making them easy to destroy. The First Order's Star Destroyers had bridges that were lower for better protection. Their TIE fighters also launched from hangars on the sides, instead of from a belly hangar as on Imperial Star Destroyers.

The Supremacy

Snoke's ship (named the Supremacy) was shaped like a boomerang and was much larger than any starship in the First Order fleet, with a width of over 60 km (37 miles). It was also a gigantic weapons factory, able to produce TIE fighters, walkers, and many others. Two Resurgent-class Star Destroyers could be docked internally, and six more externally. It was destroyed when the Raddus (a Resistance cruiser), piloted by Vice Admiral Holdo, smashed into it at light speed, slicing it and other Star Destroyers in two.

First Order Special Forces TIE fighter

The First Order's Special Forces TIE fighter, distinguished by a red stripe on its cockpit, was an improved version of the Imperial TIE fighter. The Special Forces TIE fighter had room for two people, the pilot and the gunner. It also had the crucial addition of shield generators and a hyperdrive.

Starkiller Base

The First Order made a massive space station called Starkiller base. It was several times larger than the Empire's Death Star, and covered an entire planet. It was powered by a nearby sun, but it took a long time to charge. Before it could make a shot, it had to engulf the entire sun. Talk about a lot of power! One shot from Starkiller base could destroy an entire star system. After it hit its target, it would go to another system to engulf its star. Starkiller base destroyed the Hosnian system and the New Republic, but soon after it was destroyed by Resistance fighters.

First Order Assault Walker

The First Order Assault Walker (or AT-M6, for All Terrain MegaCaliber 6) are similar to the Empire's AT-AT, but it had many differences. For example, it could drop bombs from behind and had a huge MegaCaliber 6 laser cannon mounted on top. It also had armored front legs. No wonder these monsters were nicknamed "knuckle busters"! Its armor was very strong. It would take about three missiles to give this thing a dent!

First Order Transport

The First Order's stormtrooper transports could carry two squads of stormtroopers, and were armed with a single laser cannon. Its biggest weakness is the isolated cockpit.

Sith Troopers

Kylo Ren discovered a secret army of red Sith troopers. They did not use the Force, but they were still very dangerous, armed with a devastating arsenal of heavy weapons. 

First Order Praetorian Guard

The Supreme Leader was protected by the Praetorian Guard, similar to the Empire's Guard. They had an improved set of armor, and very painful weapons, such as vibro axes.

The End of the First Order

The First Order was defeated by the Resistance and other unified forces on the Sith planet of Exegol, before they could launch their new fleet of Star Destroyers.
